BBCOR bats are limited by the rules to a rating of .500 or lower. All Metal 2 Pro bats have a rating of between .496 and .500—it doesn't get much closer than that. The Metal 2 Pro BBCOR features an extended barrel and upgraded taper compared to the first generation Metal Pro. The longer barrel gives the Metal 2 more surface area and a larger sweet spot to make contact with the baseball.
By taking what StringKing learned from their first generation and overhauling that design, they made Metal 2 Pro the most durable BBCOR bat they have. Featuring variable wall thickness at the sweet spot, a modified taper, and an updated wall design. All the power in the world doesn't mean much if you can't actually use it, though. Just like a bat with all the pop in the world doesn't mean much if it hurts to make contact. StringKing completely redesigned their grip — including the taper and grip wrap — to help give you a comfortable hold on your bat that won't hurt.
